Master bathroom renovation is becoming one of the most popular home decorating projects. Having a well-designed master bath is a great investment if you ever sell your home. There are many ways that you can do a bathroom remodeling project. If you have a master bathroom that isn’t very spacious, you can paint the walls in muted soft colors to give the illusion of space. In the bathroom you could also paint one of the walls in a bright and bold color to give it a touch of color. An example would be painting three walls in your master bathroom an off-white color with the last wall you can tile in a turquoise blue. This will help give your bathroom the right balance of color and spaciousness. If in doubt about colors, go for neutral colors like beige, steel gray, tan, and brown.

Another way to give your master bathroom a spacious look is to use light colors on the floor. Choose tiles in tan, soft gray or light blue colors. If you want to add drama to your master bathroom remodel project, you can use black and white checkered tiles. Be sure not to use mini tile for the floor because it can give a cramped look to the bathroom. You can use these mini mosaics on the walls. If you have a light floor color scheme, you can use dark colored accessories like murals and towels to add some color. Using mirrors is not only functional but also reflects light to make your bathroom look bigger. Strategically place mirrors on the walls and above your sink to create more light in the room. In your bathroom door you could install stained glass in the door.

Install cabinets under the bathroom sink or vanity for more storage space. You can also create shelves above your bathtub to store body wash, decorative items, and shampoos. If it’s just a bathtub with no shower, you can also put extra towels and washcloths in there. For dirty towels you can put a wicker basket under the sink. You can also place a small cabinet in the hallway near your master bathroom to store additional supplies.

Other master bathroom remodel ideas may include:

• Use large mosaic tiles around the shower, tub or sink as a decorative accent finish.
• If you have pastel tiles or walls, pair your towels with coordinating shades of chocolate, charcoal, and brown.
• You can use muslin curtains or venetian blinds for your windows.
