Sure pull marketing is how they manage to sponsor a lot more people than you, however they all share some common traits that most had to “learn”. So if you are wondering “why do MLM Rainmakers patronize and make more money than me?” You first need to understand what all Rainmakers have in common. I’ll get straight to the point and tell you what they all have in common and then quickly go over each trait: Abilities, Mindset, and Activity.
Skills for Successful Network Marketing:
Although there are no formal training courses or traditional higher education degrees associated with MLM or network marketing, most Rainmakers must learn the skills necessary to become high performing or million dollar MLM leaders. It doesn’t happen by accident and most Rainmakers fight just like you. The difference between someone who is a Rainmaker in the online auction MLM business and you are… the Rainmaker did not stop learning. He or she made mistakes, learned from them, sought guidance, and got better because of the mistakes. Skills 1 and 2 in network marketing are “coaching” and “marketing.” Coaching ability in combination with marketing ability pretty much equals “Relationship Management”. If you can coach others through relationship building and manage the process through inbound marketing, you can reach more people and leverage the internet for relationship management. Rainmakers are proven trainers and proven trainers will always have a better recruiting (sponsoring) field! Think LSU Football… Who wants to live in Baton Rouge, LA? So what does this look like? We can use myself as the case scenario. I learned to present the training because my team members (downline, but I hate that term, it’s not relational) needed my help. Heck, I wasn’t sure how to help myself at first, but what I learned was that they just needed me to encourage them and give them some advice. A good team member with the right mindset (more on mindset in a bit) will take encouraging confidence from me with some tips on lead generation and move on. They understand it’s their business, they just needed to know they weren’t in business alone. Okay, at first I was horrible as a trainer… I would tell them “hey, you just need to get out there and talk to more people, post comments on forums, use your distributor link in articles, etc.” but the feedback was not so good from them. Telling someone what to do is less effective than showing someone what to do. So, to illustrate this, I would create “screenshot training manuals” to show step by step certain activities…then I moved on to recording videos and continually communicating via email with everyone on my team or partners.
When a Rainmaker is asked “how do I become like you?”…they don’t tell him how, they always “show” him how!
Mindset to become a Rainmaker:
This is the easiest MLM Rainmaker trait to talk about. It is short, to the point and direct. This mindset can also be learned, but it is much more difficult than it seems. Are you ready? Well… here it is… it is: Positive and Confident Attitude! If that is all. All Rainmakers share this trait. Think about it for a second. Positive attitudes produce positive results and negative attitudes produce negative results. Now I know what you might be thinking…”sounds great and all, but I know some buttheads that are very successful”. Yes, there are people with negative attitudes who are successful but are very confident! However, I would challenge that at some point that jerk that succeeds will crash at some point.
Rainmakers wake up each morning ready and excited to start the day. He gives them the creeps to think about making money for the day. They are usually very grateful people who cherish their families and do not dwell on failures but always learn from them. They will usually stay away from “gotcha” types and won’t waste negative thoughts on the ones that don’t work. Hint Hint! If you want to work with a rainmaker, be very prepared to work, stay focused, and don’t whine or complain because results don’t show up overnight.
Activities are what produce Rainmaker results:
Well, that third common trait is the activities. Think of the most successful person you know… how difficult is it to get in touch with them? What do they do all day? Yes, that’s right… they plan their days and weeks for activities that only produce money. They are on the phone, on the computer, recording videos, developing websites, interacting on forums, and pretty much eating, sleeping, and breathing activities. They are very busy people who constantly analyze their activities and track performance. For example, a Rainmaker will know that Mondays between 7pm and 8:30pm is the best time to schedule webinars for a certain niche group in their time zone because most marketers start out part-time. They constantly analyze their team members and partners to focus on working with those with the greatest potential or show the greatest future potential. Rainmaker will constantly perform activities that result in leads, contacts, and sales.
Another activity is following a system. Rainmaker knows how to automate lead capture and follow up. This can also be learned, provided by your main company or outsourced. A true Rainmaker keeps his personal activity online to maximize his relationships while leveraging the Internet to touch more people than he could in his local community!
