Have you ever wondered why some people make it through auditions? while others are shown the door? So wonder no more. The main reason behind success and failure is how well the audition judges can reflect and interpret your performance to meet your expectations. The following are some of the things that most judges look for in acting auditions:

1) Ability to display a wide range of emotions. The judges at the auditions would expect you to move to the tune; This means that when it’s time to show shock, open your eyes as wide as possible and place your hand over your mouth. On the other hand, the grievance can be expressed by showing deep thought and sadness. However, try as much as possible not to look at the ground while voicing your complaint. This is because the director will not be able to see your face. When you smile, don’t just smile with your mouth, but also show in your eyes that you are genuinely happy. Your eyebrows can also be used to express happy feelings; Slanted brows show genuine enthusiasm as opposed to flat brows.

2) Ability to relate to other actors both on and off camera. As an actor, you won’t be alone in the movie; the ability to relate well to fellow actors shows maturity and a desire to learn from others. Treat other actors as you would like to be treated. This would be reflected on camera, as many actors would offer to shoot videos with you.

3) Spontaneity. This is the ability to be unpredictable in your actions. Have your audience always try to figure out what kind of person you are because of your different reactions to similar situations. The judges prefer people who have multiple personalities because they make the show that much more interesting.

4) Sometimes experience counts. Experience shows that you have first-hand information on what is required of you. Also, the more experience you have, the less likely you are to make mistakes. This is the main reason why different movies use the same actors to perform their acts. If you’re a brand new actor to auditions, try to make good movies with your friends before you go on the panel.

5) Easy to work with. Acting judges prefer people who can easily grasp concepts and follow simple instructions. Don’t be the type of person who always asks them to repeat what they’ve already told you. If you have a hearing problem, let them know ahead of time so they can be prepared to handle it.

6) A good match for the role they are playing. This has to do with the type of personality you have. If they are choosing a naughty person, then you have to indicate rudeness and a rude attitude. Even if you’re good on screen, if you don’t fit the character they’re looking for, just don’t audition.
