“Fox Fleet” are a five piece indie band based in Seattle. Their genres include indie folk, folk rock, baroque pop, indie rock, and indie pop. Fleet Foxes consists of Robin Pecknold (vocals and guitar), Skye Skjelset (lead guitar), Jay Tillman (drums), Casey Westcott (keyboards and bass) and Christian Wargo (bass and keyboards). According to The Independent, the Fleet Foxes described their music as “baroque harmonic pop japs”. Prior to the release of their self-titled album, Fleet Foxes released two EPs, “Fleet Foxes EP” in 2006 and “Sun Giant” in February 2008, with both EPs receiving positive reviews and praise.

fox fleet somehow it reminds me of the Okkervil river. I don’t know why. The whole trip of Fleet Foxes is like having fun and singing in a church. She has those that make you sing in church, with your hands holding hands. And those who make you nod your head too. It’s nice to have when you are in church, harmony will come when you have Fleet Foxes with you.

Fleet Foxes will keep your heart at peace with “The sun rises”. With a constant touch of guitar and drums. It won’t be long before you realize you like this song. From the lyrics where Robin says “Red squirrel in the morning, red squirrel in the afternoon, red squirrel in the morning, I’m gonna take you home, the sun rises over my head, in the morning, with the hold me, darling, in the night, the sun, will rise, very soon…” I really don’t know what it meant, but one thing is for sure. You will feel comfortable with this song. Simple lyrics, but with a deep meaning.

“White Winter Hymnal” it’s really good i have to say. From start to finish, he has me going. It’s like when you have ice cream, you would end up asking for more. This is what happened to me when I heard this song. I have to say that White Winter Hymnal is really amazing! Robin made this song sound so easy, but so good! I can feel the Fleet Foxes harmony in this song. The voice and music were too cool to handle. Especially the “woo hoo hoo woo hoo hoo”. Incredible!

“jagged wood” comes as the third track on the album. It is the longest song on the album and one of the crunchiest on the album. Something again, reminiscent of the Okkervil river. As Robin sings, you can hear the rest of the Fleet Foxes join in and have a good time too. They provide beautiful, harmonized backing vocals, which today is one of the secret ingredients of any successful indie band and artist. With some amazing guitar licks at the end, this song is not to be missed.

Fleet Foxes continues with “Tiger Mountain Peasant Song”, which is a beautiful ballad and showcased Robin’s voice. Robin sang: “The wanderers passed this morning, where they went, graceful in the morning light, to the flag fair, to follow you softly, in the cold mountain air.” I can’t tell what it means from the lyrics, but I can feel the sadness in this song. Fleet Foxes sure know how to take care of your emotions.

“quiet houses” It had some really good music playing. I was amazed at the moment he started the music, steady drum beats and beautiful acoustic guitar accompanied by what sounded like a knock on the door. It’s so simple, but this song is really good. Look at the music! Oh yeah, I think the Fleet Foxes are singing about ahem… The lyrics go like this: “Lie down, lay down… Don’t give up, don’t give up… Oooh… Come for me…” Happy track and upbeat with some really catchy hooks!

“He Don’t Know Why” It started with the beautiful, harmonized moans of the Fleet Foxes. This song has some pick up points. Every time Robin finished singing a verse, she had to catch her breath and strengthen her lungs and sing a new verse again. It’s such a hard song to sing if you tried. Robin tried to do it with as little effort as possible. At the end, where Robin said, “There’s nothing I can do, there’s nothing I can say…” was the climax of this song and was followed by a beautiful 30 second piano rendition.

In “I Heard Them Shaking”, you can hear Robin’s moans at the beginning, and slowly the rest of the Fleet Foxes joined in, creating a beautiful platform for harmonized hums and moans. They said, “woo hooo hoo…” And more! As if a choir group were singing with the Fleet Foxes. A beautiful Fleet Foxes. They were the music in Heard Them Stirring.

wow, “Your Protector” it’s like a heroic hymn for a warrior. Interesting Fleet Foxes theme. There was some flute playing on this track, bringing a new instrument to the music of Fleet Foxes. 🙂 The chorus was kind of good and strong, I can feel it as Robin yells, “As you lie down to die next to me baby, I’m the one in the shooter, would you wait for me, the other one?” would you expect me…” With Your Protector, I can see that Robin is trying to tell us a story, maybe she doesn’t understand it. But with the music and endless moans and hums harmonized, I couldn’t ask for more.

“larks” is another beautiful acoustic ballad about the lark. If I’m not mistaken, I think Robin is singing about her pet, a lark. I love the way the Fleet Foxes hum this song. It was too beautiful!

“Blue Ridge Mountains” It started very slow, but managed to finish on a high note. There was a unique instrument on this track, it sounded like a Chinese or Japanese instrument, which made Blue Ridge Mountains so good to the ears. The piano can also be heard in the background as Robin sang. “In the trembling forest, where the trembling dog rests, our good grandfather built a wooden nest, and the river froze, and the house was covered with snow, and the yellow moon shone until the morning light” Bright things here .

The last track on the Fleet Foxes debut is a beautiful acoustic track called “Oliver James”. Sometimes when she heard this song, she just wanted to sing. The fact that this song is so easy to sing, it’s a fascinating track. Only Robin’s voice and some guitars are heard. Even if the guitar is not present, I have no doubt that this will be a great track as well. just lovely. A peaceful way to end the album.

Classification: Wow, each song on Fleet Foxes debut has its own uniqueness and specialty. I really enjoyed this album. The Fleet Foxes instrumentals were pure genius, I can’t help but listen to them all the time on my ipod. Fleet Foxes also tried to add some variety to their music by using different types of instruments, which for me, really did a great job. Nothing to argue about, there might be some glitches between the album or some dull short moments on Fleet Foxes, but still Fleet Foxes is worth spending time with. 7.5 out of 10, I have to say. Health!

Featured Songs (My Picks): White Winter Hymnal, Ragged Wood, Quiet Houses, Meadowlarks, Blue Ridge Mountains.
