The Vedic term has been derived from the Vedas. Vedic horoscopy is also better known as jyotish, which means “science of light.” The Vedas encapsulated hymns sung in praise of the lords. The Vedas are also an inexhaustible source of knowledge and wisdom. The Vedas followed a certain culture that was then known as ‘bharat’, now India. Vedic horoscopes, therefore, have to do with knowledge, truth, absolute truth, and the science of existence. The Vedas also contain astronomical scientific knowledge and are over 5,000 years old. The best part of the Vedas and Vedic horoscopy is the way it has been successful in preserving the ancient heritage and rich knowledge of the nation. It also says a lot about the numerous invasions of our country. Simply put, it can be said that Vedic horoscopes are basically the science of purusha, the science of spirit, the science of karma and the way it affects matter. When we talk about matter, it means the following: Earth, water, fire, air and space. The initial four elements are predominant in our daily life, but the fifth is basically beyond the knowledge of an ordinary man. Apart from the elements mentioned above, there is also the concept of the three ‘Gunas’, the term Guna means ‘something that unites’. The three Gunas mentioned in the Vedic horoscopes are listed below:

1) Sattwa: This term symbolizes knowledge, peace and harmony. The main objective of Sattwa is to join us in the recognized worldly pleasures, which to some extent, also acts as a barrier to pave the way to emancipation. Sometimes Sattwa is also expressed as a soul.

2) Rajas- The term Rajas refers to pleasure, activities and motivation. Rajas helps to link an individual’s motivation together with the desire to produce pleasure. It is also expressed as emotions and mind.

3) Tams: It is known as ignorance, inertia, stability and attachment. Tamas is best expressed through a human body (physically). In this Guna, our tendencies are linked to our inertia to adhere to the form and situation.

Therefore, Vedic horoscopy is generally based on the rituals and science mentioned above. Only after taking them into account do astrologers come to a conclusion about the fate of an individual.

On the other hand, the Chinese method of horoscopy differs from the Vedic in a different way.

Like the Vedic horoscopes. Chinese horoscopes consist of five different elements, namely wood, water, metal, fire, and earth. The lunar calendar in Chinese horoscopy has a cycle of sixty years. The fate of an individual, in Chinese horoscopy, depends on which lunar year of the 60-year cycle the individual was born. The five elements mentioned above are also supposed to make up all matter combined with the twelve animal signs, namely tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, monkey, lamb, pig, dog, ox, rooster and horse. The Chinese horoscopy system is never based on dogma nor is it fatal to an individual. An individual would never feel dominated or captured by his weaknesses. Rather, it would be prompted to explore available resources in the most imaginative and feasible way. Instead of stopping someone, Chinese horoscopes will push a person to build new paths; In case your present cannot meet your future demands. Following such rules will automatically help a person to solve the worst of problems and also to overcome the insurmountable. This is how the Chinese horoscope prepares someone for the worst so that they can achieve the best.

That’s how; The Chinese horoscope system is different from the ancient and cultural Vedic horoscope system. It’s a good sign that people have embraced both forms of horoscopy with open arms, and will hopefully continue to do so in the near future.
