There are many types of dwarf hamster breeders. Some do it full time while others do it part time. Some offer their hamsters for sale to interested owners, while others do so simply for personal enjoyment. So why are there so many different levels of breeders? Well, breeding is more complicated than you think. Good dwarf hamster breeders often take their time in choosing which hamsters to breed together, and sometimes even seek out that particular hamster to breed. But not all breeders are so enthusiastic. While some have years of experience under their belt, others are just getting started, so don’t expect every breeder to have great hamsters.

Dwarf hamster breeders have been around for a long, long time. For as long as dwarf hamsters have been in captivity, they have been bred. And because they have a very fast lifespan, breeders can breed generations of these guys very quickly. This makes it easier to breed for specific qualities and traits. This is the reason why there are so many different patterns of these hamsters today (including sapphire colored ones).

But a fresh color pattern isn’t the only thing breeders are looking for (although it is one of the main ones). Dwarf hamster breeders (at least the good ones) also look at health factors and behavioral traits. They generally don’t breed hamsters that have any disease (or an unusual number of fingers) and tend to only breed the healthiest hamsters they own. On top of that, good breeders tend to avoid raising hamsters that are always fighting and causing trouble. Hamsters that are docile and friendly are often favorites to become proud parents.

So if you’re looking to adopt a dwarf hamster, a breeder is definitely a good place to look. And if he finds a good one, there’s a good chance he’ll find his new pet hamster soon.
