CHEWY CARAMEL BROWNIES

Ingredients:

2 packages of candies (about 100)

1⅓ cups evaporated milk

1½ cup butter

2 Box German Chocolate Cake Mix

1 cup of chopped walnuts

1 cup of chopped walnuts

24 ounce milk chocolate chips

Instructions:

Melt two packages of caramels with ⅔ cup of evaporated milk in the microwave or in a double boiler.

Mix two boxes of German Chocolate Cake Mix with 1½ cups melted butter, ⅔ cups evaporated milk, 1 cup pecans, and 1 cup walnuts.

Stir cake mix until moistened. This cake mix will be very thick. Press ½ of the mixture into a greased 9×13 pan. Bake for six minutes at 350°. Remove from oven and sprinkle with 24 ounces of milk chocolate chips and pour caramel mixture over chocolate chips. Press remaining cake mix between hands and spoon over caramel.

Place pan in oven and bake an additional 18 minutes, then remove from oven, cool 10 minutes, slice and serve.

Makes about 25 Chewy Carmel Brownies

Note: Add another 1/2 cup of chopped pecans and top these brownies with chopped pecans right out of the oven. To this recipe I have also added the marshmallow cream and it is to die for, but very rich.
