The way you play Blizzard World of Warcraft or WoW is that you create a character in the Alliance or Horde faction, which are enemies. In blizzard world of warcraft, you choose your race and class in typical role-playing game style, as a gnomish wizard or undead warlock. Some classes in Blizzard World of Warcraft can only be played as one faction, but that’s changing when The Burning Crusade expansion launched this January.

Once your blizzard world of warcraft character is introduced to the world of Azeroth (the name of the game world), you gain experience and levels by killing mobs (enemies of non-player characters) and completing quests. Quests can be acquired from various sources, such as NPCs or by finding certain items. Quests generally provide a good amount of experience and often useful items, so leveling up is quicker if you quest as much as you can.

Items and armor are important parts of playing Blizzard World of Warcraft. Along with a character’s level, the equipment they carry and use is something of a status symbol. Lower-level players stare in amazement at a max-level character decked out in dazzling armor. Armor and other items are found in mobs, given in quests, or obtained in a group or raid instance.

Grouping is an important part of playing Blizzard World of Warcraft. Playing solo up to the max level of 60 (70 with Blizzard World of Warcraft Burning Crusade) is entirely possible, but there are many advantages to grouping up. A good group can achieve much more than a single player.

In blizzard world of warcraft, killing mobs over and over again to gain experience, or grinding as it’s called, can be easier and faster with a group of people. Quests can also be faster when the entire party finishes a quest in one step, whereas the solo player had to do that step alone. Instances, for example, which are places where players enter their own private dungeon, often require a party or even a raid.

Raiding in Blizzard World of Warcraft is where things get really exciting. Some instances require many players to crawl in and out, and have boss mobs that are impossible to kill by a single player. Up to 40 players, usually all in the same guild, have to strategize to find a way to defeat a particular high-level boss mob.

Blizzard World of Warcraft even has its own economy where items are bought and sold on auction houses. These items are valuable to players, so some people pay a lot of in-game money or gold for them. Players have brought this economy into the real world by selling gold to other players for real money and some people even sell entire WoW accounts.

Blizzard doesn’t really like this idea, but they don’t try to crack down on it. Some players spend their time in Blizzard World of Warcraft farming (killing mobs for the sole purpose of making money) and end up earning a decent amount of real money.
