People will subscribe. JUST make it sound really good! Like: Free guide shows you an easy way to potty train your pup in 3 days or less!

No more ruined carpets, stop frustration or dirt in your home, etc.
Put up a subscription form using one of the services like Aweber or get a response. Make it sound so good and of course valuable! And they will love the fact that they get it for free. Keep your audience in mind at all times!
Research other sites and get the privacy policy, contact page, and a few other things set up on their site. Your index page should be your squeeze page, which is the free offer for a guide.
