Nigeria is a great country. As Christians living in Nigeria and as citizens of this great country, I want to say that we all have a wonderful and glorious heritage here in Nigeria (Africa). I know that our inheritance is in heaven, where there is no sadness anymore; no more bread; no more suffering, and where we will see Jesus face to face, yet this glorious heritage of ours begins HERE AND NOW on earth!

This inheritance cannot be on a golden plate. Nothing good comes that easy, and for this reason, taking the easy road to our inheritance may not be the best option for us. In Joshua 19: 41-46, the Bible tells us about the tribe of Dan and the cities that formed his inheritance. One of them is Ekron, a Philistine city. The Philistines were warriors, with so many giants in their land. They also had iron chariots, but these Danites had to fight with them for their inheritance. In fact they saw problems with the inheritance that God gave them. They marched to another place in search of a place to settle, until they reached Lais, an isolated place. They paid the price for taking the easy road, settling for second best.

When you settle for second best in God, you will actually lose your inheritance. As Nigerians, our heritage is here, not elsewhere. That’s why we need to save our beloved country, bring it to greatness and eat the fruit of the land (our inheritance)! Furthermore, when Moses sent the 12 spies to explore the land of Canaan, they were asked to go and check the goodness or otherwise of the land. They went and confirmed that it was a good land after 40 days of searching as God promised Moses before Israel left Egypt. They reported that the good land was inhabited by mortal enemies, but Caleb and Joshua reported that it was a good land, but they were up to the task (Numbers 13:30; 14:1-9).

I want to inform that our country Nigeria is a land that God has blessed with various blessings and the cities we live in have many treasures of darkness and hidden riches from secret places but it requires courage, spiritual struggle and understanding. , to obtain our portion or inheritance of these blessings. Although many people, including Christians, may be intimidated by the presence of strong opposition, our share of the inheritance will not be lost. I want you to understand that the good of the earth is for the righteous (Isaiah 1:18-19; Deuteronomy 28:1-13). In order for you to get your portion in this land, certain things must be on ground that cannot be compromised. If anyone doubts the possibility of getting their lot in the midst of the terrible competition, opposition, corruption, and wickedness of today’s society, they should listen to the likes of Joshua and Caleb and avoid taking the easy path that leads to perpetual slavery. .
