Apps to do just that are already available for the iPhone from Apple. and other devices from USAA, a company that provides insurance and banking services primarily to military veterans.”
He goes on to explain in this piece of personal mobile smart cell phone technology that banks like Chase, B of A, and Citibank seem to be all on board with this technology, the article’s author suggests, and will introduce this technology in 2010. The concept is called ” Remote Deposit Capture”, and where it seems like a great technology and easy to use concept, we also need to remember what a target mobile users have become for hackers, especially as we find out about the release of codes secrets used to encrypt such devices.
Scary stuff, for those who use such apps, but indeed, it would surely make electronic wire deposits easy, wouldn’t it? The article investigated the impressive growth of Skype usage features on various smartphone devices, as if it could become the international standard for all cell phones in the future. Panasonic and LG are already offering this, and it’s a huge hit in the EU and Asian markets.
As quickly as one company introduces a new feature, all the others seem to follow. Just because Apple or Google have a new app doesn’t mean the industry won’t make it a standard feature on every smartphone like digital camera, video clips etc. Sure, technologies or apps may work slightly differently due to patents, software, device hardware, but essentially every company will offer every app eventually.
The competitive nature of the industry is heating up as hundreds of millions of Chinese, Indian, Southeast Asian, African and South American people get their first mobile devices.
